Bible Study
St Mark's has several Bible Study groups. Some, like our annual Lenten Study groups, meet for a short time and then disperse. Others meet for many months, or even years. One group has been meeting together for Bible Study for 25 years (as of October 2009)! If you are interested in joining a Bible Study, contact one of the clergy.

The Catechumenate
St Mark's uses the Catechumenate process for welcoming and initiating adults into the faith community. The Catechumenate is a process of enquiry and gradual introduction to the story of Jesus and his followers as understood within the worldwide Anglican Communion. The process may lead the enquirer to baptism, confirmation, reaffirmation of faith or reception into the Anglican Church.

The Catechumenate is about being Church. It is about journey, welcome, belonging and questioning. It is about story telling, finding meaning and sharing faith, about celebration and commitment. It is about proclaiming and living the Gospel.

If you are wondering what the Christian life is about, then come and see! For more information, contact Barbara Brumby, 5476 7040.

Education for Ministry
Education for Ministry - EfM - is an extensive educational program of theology and ministry linking the faith of the Christian tradition with the events of everyday life. The program involves individual study and shared exploration of faith. The material studied is in four sections: Old Testament, New Testament, Church History and Contemporary Theology. Participants sign up for one year at a time, up to a total of four years.

At St Mark's, the EfM year follows the school year. If you are interested in joining this group, contact the Church Office.
