  • Fr John Cornish
Fr John Cornish Locum Parish Priest

John and his wife Christine became members of St Mark’s community after moving in retirement to beautiful Mountain Creek, two and a half years ago. They have three children and six grandchildren.

John was the Rector of the Parish of Epping in Sydney for 18 years. Prior to that he was the Rector of Indooroopilly for five years, after Fr Richard Gowty; the Senior Assistant Priest of St James’ King Street (Sydney); the Rector of Keppel (Yeppoon); and the assistant curate of Cooma in the Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn.

John trained for ministry in Canberra at what is now St Mark’s College. Prior to priesthood he worked at the ABC, in the money market and as TAFE teacher.

John believes that as the body of Christ in this community, we all have some aspect of God to offer each other as we travel together on this new part of our walk of life. May God bless us as we do.

John will be working Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, and can be contacted at jcornish@stmarksbuderim.org.au or on 0421 310 126.
